I found it quite amusing to see a patent on such a simple device. It seems like the coffee buisness is also threatened by patents. This very simple cardboard device used to protect the hands of the coffee holder against the unexpected heat. By looking at the patent description, something tells me more time has been spent on the patent than thinking about the cup holder.
